Part of our debut in-house collection, the Qalamoun Set is our contemporary take on the fabulous Qalamoun traditional dress.
The top is made of a dreamy ivory cotton/linen blend adorned with traditional "shumoo3" or "candle" motifs along the sleeves and a striking bouquet on the back. Each tatreez pattern was adapted from verified historic pieces. The top also includes a built in belt that can be tied in the front or the back, and natural shell buttons.
Our skirt is designed with godet panels that give it an ethereal effect when you move. The panels and hem adorned with traditional candle motifs.
Production on Qalamoun pieces begins mid January and takes 8-10 weeks. All items are cut, stitched, and hand embroidered by women who work from home, not in a factory, so our pieces take a little extra time but are made with lots of love!
The Qalamoun Top and Skirt are cut and stitched by women of the Seen Institution, a non profit in Syria that offers vocational training and family/marriage counseling to the community.
