The Arabesque Dress

The Arabesque dress features a luxurious Damascus cotton blend fabric, with a striped pattern traditionally referred to as Namat Arabi, or of the “Arab Order”. The dress is a classic black with regal stripes in shades of red, green, and yellow paneled on the sides. The bodice is decorated with gold embroidery. 

 To make the Aghabani embroidery, a craftswoman guides a handheld stitching machine along a blue pattern stamped onto the fabric with washable ink. The garment is then washed and pressed leaving a luxuriously soft, beautifully ornamented dress.
