The Sabah Dress

This incredible vintage brocade dress from Damascus features regal embroidery in spring shades of coral and sage. 

Measurements:

Pit to Pit (Lying Flat): 30.5”

Length (Neck to Hem): 54.5”

Because this is handmade, there may be some imperfection (though we prefer to call it “character”.) You might also notice asymmetry in the design (some scholars believe this is because Syrian embroiderers are superstitious and deliberately avoid symmetry to protect the wearer from the evil eye.) Syrian cross-stitch is an endangered practice, and pieces like this are incredibly rare. We ask that if you do adopt this special dress, that you treat it with love, care, and gentleness. It has traveled a long way from its home!
